The rotary ash cooler, also known as the drum type ash cooler, is a drum-type heat exchanger used for cooling bulk material. Its structure and heat exchanging process differ from those of conventional heat exchangers.
In the drum type ash cooler, three methods of heat transfer—thermal radiation, conduction, and convection—work simultaneously. The primary cooling medium is water, while the secondary medium is air. This high-efficiency ash cooling equipment is designed to meet the requirements of large-volume CFB boilers.
The drum ash cooler consists of a drum, ash filling device, ash discharge device, drive device, transmission device, cooling water system, and electric control device. It is specifically used for cooling hot ash from CFB boilers.
